PERSONAL PROFILE:
A dynamic Multimedia Journalism student, with extensive experience of working in the retail and leisure industries during undertaking my studies. I have developed strong communication and team working skills and have achieved good academic grades and qualifications at secondary school and college after recently achieving a distinction in Level 3 Film and TV Production. Currently at university studying Multimedia Journalism with the ambition of being a Broadcast Journalist.
In 2022 I was a National winner of the BBC Young Reporter competition. Along with this I was able to write up my story my story to get posted on the BBC News website. I had full control over the content, working alongside a qualified journalist.

Work Experience:

ITV News West Country
Work Experience | February 2022 - (1week)
â–ª I successfully secured a one-week work experience placement with ITV News West Country. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn about all aspects of news and journalism. I was particularly proud of the feedback I received from the Production Coordinator, who said: “It was great to see Bethany so engaged across all the roles she shadowed. She was confident to speak up and contribute to our morning meetings, presenting ideas and suggestions towards our local news stories. Overall, we were really pleased with Bethany’s week with us and the enthusiasm she showed for broadcast journalism.”
Doghouse Post Production
Work Experience | March 2022 - (1week)
â–ª I welcomed the opportunity to learn more about the media industry by securing another placement at Doghouse. This included shadowing numerous roles within the company to learn more about the post-production industry. This has significantly enhanced my understanding of what it’s like to work in a post-production company. I received very positive feedback from the company, including the following: “Bethany has done brilliantly at Doghouse. She has been polite, friendly, and professional to all clients and staff. When observing staff, she has been engaged and inquisitive about their job and task.”
Global’s Heart Radio
Work Experience | March 2022 - (1week) | July 2024 – (1 week)
â–ª I secured a final placement with Global’s Heart Southwest Radio to learn the radio side of broadcast journalism. This included turning press releases into scripts and editing raw interview audio into clips for use in local news bulletins. I received very positive feedback from the company, including the following: “…worked hard to produce a large amount of content that went “to air”. Bethany was punctual, polite, and friendly and would always ask for help when required… she did well to grasp the style of writing and presentation that we aim for on Heart.”
