The "Hidden Aftermath" is out now

After months of research, writing and speaking to some incredibly brave people, my feature The Hidden Aftermath: Exploring the Long-Term Effects of Drink Spiking is now live.

Last summer, I was spiked at a music festival in Croatia. What followed wasn’t just one terrifying night — it was months of anxiety, fear and hypervigilance that completely changed how I experience social life. And I quickly realised: I’m not alone.

This story goes beyond the headlines and viral TikToks. It’s about what happens after someone is spiked — the confusion, the trauma, the long road to feeling safe again.

I spoke to other victims and charities to paint a clearer picture of the hidden aftermath so many people quietly live with.

Let’s change the way we view this issue — because it’s not just one bad night. It’s something that can shape someone’s life long after the music stops.
