The Pitch

I’m really excited to be working on my online feature story, The Hidden Aftermath: Exploring the Long-Term Effects of Drink Spiking.

 There’s so much conversation about drink spiking itself, but not nearly enough about what comes after—the emotional and physical toll that can last long after the incident.

This project is really personal to me and I want to create something that reassures victims they’re not alone, it’s not their fault and that sharing their story can help break the stigma.

I’ll be talking to spiking victims, charities like Stamp Out Spiking and police representatives to get a full picture of what’s happening and what can be done to stop it.

I’m also bringing this to life with photos, videos and audio clips, so it’s not just words on a screen—it’s real people, real voices.

My hope is that this piece raises awareness, starts conversations, and encourages preventative action, while giving survivors the support and understanding they deserve.
